An animal rights event, organized by PFPO and the online magazine “Atexnos”, took place on Friday 21 June. Faye Liara, teacher, made an intervention on behalf of PFPO while Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos (KKE MEP) made known his views on animal rights.
We had a great discussion about all animal species, their rights and problems in our society and real causes of animal exploitation. Also, it was emphasized and analyzed the fact that discussions on animal issues are mostly focused on moralization, personal responsibility and feeling of guilt.
Also, Faye Liara summarized all actions taken for animals and the environment and our Federation’s views on effective management of stray animals.
We would like to give special thanks to Iraklis Kakavanis, operator of the online magazine “Atexnos” for this event, the owner of the wonderful place “Gate 82 Multispace” for hospitality and all those who helped for the event and all those who participated in the discussion and posed some interesting questions. We would like also to especially thank Lefteris Nikolaou –Alavanos, KKE MEP, for his excellent intervention. We hope that similar events will take place in the near future, as animal issues must be viewed from a political angle.
